I love the intricate detail that is found in all plant life. The hikes that I take are often much longer than need be simply because I have my camera and plants are always a willing subject for a photo. As a scientist, I have spent much time in the classroom and the field learning about the various parts of plants and what specifically causes a plant to be classified a certain way.  Plants are incredible and the diversity is massive.  Even more than that, plants serve as an object lesson.  When I look at a beautiful flower, I can’t help but think of the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:28-30, “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?”
